Behind the Dream
Carlo Manfredi, founder and creative director of Man&Del, has always had a passion for fashion and design. His teacher noticed this already in middle school and recommended that he pursue a creative career, but life often has other plans.
But his love for beautiful things never let him go. Especially handbags aroused his interest. This little universe that women carry with them every day. Full of mysterious objects, large and small, useful and expendable, but mostly very personal. For men there is often only a shake of the head and the realization that it will remain an unfathomable mystery forever.
Carlo Manfredi lives with his family in the Italian Alps. He holds a degree in Economics from the University of Trento, a Master’s in International Management from ZfU Zurich/Boston, and diplomas from Harvard Business School, Babson College, Northwestern University (USA) and CEIBS Shanghai (China). He speaks five languages and is an enthusiastic regatta sailor in his spare time.
The surname Manfredi: the Manfredi come from an old Italian noble family. First documentary mentions go back to the 11th century. They were counts of Faenza for over 400 years. Manfredi means “man of peace”, which suggests that the Manfredi are of Longobard origin.
Claudio Ruatti is the creative mind behind Man&Del’s brand.
He started his career creating designs for brands like Roncato, Helly Hansen, Murphy&Nye, La Martina, Replay and many others.
He spent a great amount of time on planning and research, translating from sports products to fashion accessories. Teaching in different schools and hosting workshops across Italy also brought him opportunities to teach in other prestigious design schools outside the borders as well.
Today he’s the art director in Brand&Soda, a design studio operating in the creative field bringing online and offline material for Man&Del’s developing process.
Here are his thoughts about our owner, Carlo Manfredi.
“When I met Carlo, I quickly realized that he is the real entrepreneur: hungry, passionate and crazy enough to embrace a project like Man&Del”.
Claudio and his team are still working on new Man&Del projects because for G-Rope, this is just the beginning!
Bruno and Alessandra Sturaro: father and daughter, both designers, make the prototypes of all Man&Del bags, they own the design studio “B+ARS” near Venice. Bruno Stuaro is the designer of the new men’s bag, Alessandra is responsible for the “Cello” model. Both new models will be launched in November 2018. They work for most of the major international brands and from this year also for Man&Del.
We are Man&Del, a team built on success.
